I signed up to run the Flying Pig Marathon on May 1st. I started running today. Figured I'd start small with a 4-mile run. Felt pretty good. Obviously a little stiff, but I feel good that I don't have to start training at a lower mileage.

Tried out a new route today, and didn't want to forget my path, so I wrote on my "handy" notepad:

Welcome to a new year!  I'm going to try to do better this year, which means most of my pictures will probably come from my point-and-shoot camera.  It's just easier to upload directly to this site from the point and shoot, since my fancy-pants camera shoots in RAW, and there's a conversion factor.

So anyways, here's January 1st...we attended a wedding for the first time in over a year as guests!  They had these really fun things called Water Beads.  They started out really small, you added water, and they filled up.  Pretty cool.  Nick entertained himself for quite a while with them, and they made a good first PotD of the year.

December 2 - Doing research on landforms.  Wish I had had the internet and a nice computer when I was a kid...

December 3 - Funky Food Fest, a reward for students that had completed 5 goals for the month of November.  Hysterical!!

October 24 - A 2-Session day, both families...

October 28 - A crowning teaching achievement: The Best Part of Me project.  The kids chose the composition, I took the pics.  This is one of my favs...

October 29 - Halloween parties at school are always crazy.  Here I am with my mouth full of unchewed Dubble Bubble.  Ouch.

October 30 - Bark for Life of Centerville, where I was a vendor. (not my picture, or my booth, but you get the idea)  COLD....

October 31 - Took the students to a corn maze, then played an EPIC game of kickball.  Amazing day...
